About the R35 GT-R

Nissan unveiled the R35 GT-R at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2007 and put it on sale in Japan that December. The last car was built at Tochigi in August 2025. Every one has the hand-built 3.8-litre VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 and the GR6 six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which sits at the back of the car in a transaxle with the transfer case and final drive.

The R35 was updated almost every year, so the model year matters when you order. The big step for parts came with the 2011 model, launched in November 2010. It moved the car from the CBA to the DBA chassis code and brought larger 390mm front brake discs in place of the original 380mm. The 2017 model, on sale from July 2016, brought a new grille, front bumper and a reinforced bonnet, so front-end body parts differ from earlier cars. Be aware that US model years run one year ahead of the UK and Japanese names, so a UK "2011" car is a US "2012".

Every product page has a "Vehicles this part fits" table. Check it against your car's model year, build date and brake set-up, and if you're not sure, get in touch with those details before you order.

R35 GT-R fitment notes

  • MY08 (on sale in Japan Dec 2007): launch car, 480PS. Brembo monoblock six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, 380mm front and rear discs.
  • MY09 (Dec 2008): 485PS, new dampers and a higher front spring rate.
  • MY11 (Nov 2010): chassis code changes from CBA to DBA. 530PS, 390mm front discs, carbon front strut brace and revised suspension. Nissan also sold a 390mm front brake kit for earlier cars, so check what yours has.
  • MY12 (Nov 2011): 550PS, revised intake and intercooler ducting, and a left/right asymmetric suspension set-up on right-hand-drive cars.
  • MY14 (Nov 2013): retuned suspension and new LED headlights. The NISMO model arrived alongside it.
  • MY17 (on sale Jul 2016): 570PS, new grille, front bumper, spoiler lip and reinforced bonnet, and a refined GR6 gearbox.
  • Chassis codes: CBA-R35 up to Sep 2010, DBA-R35 from Nov 2010, and 4BA-R35 from 2019. The 2017-on facelift is often called "EBA" by owners. For fitment, we go by model year and build date.
  • Brakes: rear discs are 380mm on every steel-brake car. Carbon-ceramic brakes (410mm front, 390mm rear on later NISMO and T-spec cars) use different discs and pads. See our guide to choosing GT-R brake rotors (/guides/gtr-brake-rotors).
  • Wheels: 5x114.3 PCD, M12 x 1.25 wheel nuts, 66.1mm centre bore.

R35 GT-R parts: common questions

Which years was the R35 GT-R made?

It went on sale in Japan in December 2007, and the last car was built in August 2025. Nissan updated it almost every model year in between.

What do CBA, DBA and EBA mean on an R35 GT-R?

CBA and DBA are Nissan's Japanese chassis code prefixes. CBA-R35 covers cars up to September 2010, and DBA-R35 starts with the 2011 model in November 2010. Later cars carry a 4BA prefix, from 2019. The 2017-on facelift is often called "EBA" by owners. For fitment, we go by model year and build date.

How do I tell which model year my R35 is?

Use the build date and the chassis code on your paperwork. We use Nissan's UK and Japanese model-year names. US model years run one year ahead, so a UK 2011 car is a US 2012.

Which front brake discs does my R35 GT-R need?

Cars up to the 2010 model have 380mm front discs, and steel-brake cars from the 2011 model on have 390mm discs. The rear discs are 380mm on every steel-brake car. Some earlier cars were fitted with Nissan's 390mm upgrade kit, and carbon-ceramic cars use different parts, so measure the disc if you're unsure.

Will DBA brake discs fit my 2009 GT-R?

DBA is a brake brand as well as a Nissan chassis code, so the name doesn't tell you the fit. A 2009 car is a CBA car with 380mm front discs from the factory, unless it has had Nissan's 390mm upgrade kit, so check what's fitted and choose discs listed for that set-up. Measure your disc if you're unsure.

What causes bellhousing rattle on an R35?

Wear in the bearings inside the bellhousing is a common cause. Some noise at idle is normal on a GT-R, and other drivetrain parts can sound similar, so have it checked by an R35 specialist, then ask us for the parts you need.

What are the R35 GT-R wheel bolt pattern and nut size?

5x114.3 PCD with M12 x 1.25 wheel nuts and a 66.1mm centre bore.

Do you sell GTS or GT-T Skyline parts?

No. Our catalogue is GT-R only, R32 to R35, plus universal parts that suit GT-Rs.

Can you source R35 GT-R parts you don't list?

Yes. We source parts from Japan, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, priced on application. Imported parts usually take 1 to 2 weeks at the minimum, and we confirm the options and timings with your quote.
