ATTESA and HICAS faults on the Skyline GT-R

ATTESA is the GT-R's four-wheel-drive system, and HICAS is its four-wheel steering. Both have warning lights and self-diagnosis. Have any fault confirmed by a specialist.

Reading ATTESA codes

Follow the factory service manual for your car to read ATTESA fault codes, or have a specialist read them.

HICAS self-test

HICAS has a self-diagnosis mode started by a set steering and brake sequence. Follow the procedure in the factory service manual for your car.

HICAS lock bars

A HICAS lock bar locks the rear steer. Tell your insurer about any modification, and check with your MOT tester before you lock out or remove a system.

Aftermarket ECU control

The Haltech Nexus plug-in ECU can take over ATTESA control.
