Description
Tomei's RB28 stroker kit, part number 221023, combines a 77.7mm-stroke forged crankshaft (standard RB26DETT stroke is 73.7mm) with 87.0mm forged pistons without valve recesses (piston crown volume -13.2cc), for about 2.77 litres. The 20.0kg crank, SNCM439 connecting rods (119.5mm centres, 3/8-24 bolts) and pistons (21mm pins, 30.0mm compression height) are all forgings. The block needs boring to suit the 87.0mm pistons, and Tomei pairs this bore with its 88.0mm-bore head gaskets in its compression ratio table. Check all clearances during assembly. A version with matched conrod bearings is sold under a separate Tomei part number.
